Travis & Pria | Beautiful Ships of The Sea Wedding
Travis and Pria met in 2011 at a Savannah dog park at 41st and Drayton, which sadly no longer exists. Six years later, in April of 2017, Travis surprised Pria with breakfast in bed, including some of her favorite foods. These were dishes Pria had previously said she would pick if it were her “last meal.”
Travis presented the tray of food and said “Pria, this is your last meal…” and for a moment, Pria thought he was about to kill her, but Travis finished his sentence and said “..this is your last meal as my girlfriend. Will you marry me?”
Pria burst into tears, said yes, and quickly devoured some tacos. Travis then explained the intricacies of his perfect proposal. Instead of going to work that Friday, Travis drove all the way to Athens to get her favorite tacos from Taqueria Del Sol. Pria never knew!
When it came to their wedding day
and picking the beautiful Ships of The Sea Museum as their venue, one of the deciding factors for them were the beautiful gardens and how they could have the entire night in one place. They did not want it to be a generic or too-formal wedding. They also didn’t like the idea of sticking to specific colors or a theme. They just picked things that they liked, while sticking to their lifestyle of comfort and fun, with a little bit of “extra.”
Maybe that’s why I felt like this wedding perfectly captured their personalities
and made celebrating their love so raw and real!
In a nod to her Indian heritage,
Pria hosted a Henna night the Thursday before their wedding for her bridesmaids, the mother of the groom, and her grandmother. Her grandmother specifically asked her about wearing a lengha choli for the reception, so Pria went on the hunt for one that she loved and found it in a store in Atlanta.
I have been living vicariously through them via Instagram as they enjoy everything that Italy has to offer. Looking back on their wedding day brings the biggest smile to my face. It was a day full of love, laughter, and joy and I am so glad we got to be a part of it!
