Two Easy Tips To Staying Organized In Your Search For Wedding Vendors
Happy Tuesday friends! So a few months ago, I was in charge of helping search for venues for my 10 year High School Reunion. I was so excited to start the search that I immediately went to google, picked like 20 of my favorite locations and filled out their inquiry form. That was FUN! You know what wasn’t fun… opening my inbox the next morning to not only my usual stack of unread emails but to a plethora of information from every single place that I had inquired with. There was so much information to go through that I immediately felt myself becoming overwhelmed. I didn’t even know where to start. Each venue replied with a lengthy detailed email or a curated PDF. I was so grateful for the information but also felt hopeless. I immediately thought “This must be how my couples feel!” So today I am sharing with you all Two Easy Steps to Staying Organized In Your Search For Wedding Vendors.
Step One | Create A Separate Email Account
If you are anything like me, you have so many subscriptions coming into your inbox, personal/business emails… the last thing you want to do is add in important emails from potential wedding vendors. Create a fun email address specifically for your wedding and use this to help you keep everything wedding-related in one place. You can use something simple like SmithWedding2020@gmail.com or something fun that you can also utilize as your Wedding Day Hashtag such as MeetTheSmiths@gmail.com.
Step Two | Narrow it Down
I can always tell when I find a couple that wants to work with me. They are eager to inquire and prompt in their responses. After you have organized an inbox specifically for your wedding and have had a chance to go through all of the information: Create a list of all vendors that fit your style, budget, needs and are available on your date. This will help you narrow it down to the ones you want to move forward with. In the meantime, be sure to take the time to thank the others for their time and to let them know that you have decided to move forward in a different direction. That keeps unneeded follow-up emails from making their way into your inbox. Once you have narrowed it down, I promise the process will be so much less overwhelming and you can begin setting up phone calls/meetings and making your final decisions! Feel free to print or save this Wedding Vendor Contact List to help you stay organized.
I hope you found these two simple steps helpful. I am wishing you the best on this journey and if you are still in search of a wedding photographer, I would love to chat. You can fill out the inquiry form here. I can’t wait to hear from you!
